New Bilingual Certification Extension
Pupil Personnel Services positions are eligible to join our new 12 Credit Program: Bilingual Certification Extension in PPS. This is for School Counselors, School Psychologists, School Social Workers and School Administrators (Please note, teachers are not eligible for this program.)
Teachers with initial and/or professional certification are eligible to join our 15 credit Bilingual Teacher Ed Program. Please see courses below.
PPS Program Starts Summer 2025;
Teacher Ed Program Starts Summer 2025
- The PPS program consists of 12 credits (4 courses)
- The Teacher Ed program consists of 15 credits (5 courses)
- All courses are offered online, asynchronously
- Tuition is $2010 per course, $8040 total program cost
- Financial Aid in the form of School Loans
- 3 credits are eligible for transfer for the PPS program*
Bilingual PPS Courses
- EDPN 620 – Child Development and Learning in Cultural Context
- EDPN 671 – Theory and Practice of Bilingual and Multicultural Education
- EDPN 672 – Methods of Teaching and Service Delivery in Language Other than English
- PSGN 698 – Field Experience in Bilingual Education and Service Delivery
*EDPN 620 may be waived if students have taken a similar course in their previous Graduate Studies. Student must have achieved a grade of B or better and taken within the past 6 years. Touro College will review all graduate transcripts for eligible transfers. The sole discretion lies with Touro College.

- EDDN 636 – Linguistic Structure of the English Language
- EDDN 638 – Teaching English as a Second Language through Modern English
- EDPN 671 – Theory and Practice of Bilingual and Multicultural Education
- EDPN 673 – Methods and Materials for Teaching English As a Second Language
- EDPN 675 – Methods and Materials for Teaching in the Native Language
Admissions Requirements
- Completed Graduate Application
- Application fee: $50
- Official Transcripts: 3.0 GPA
- Graduate
- Undergraduate
- Proof of NYS Initial or Professional Licensure
- Upon acceptance, Students are required to submit an $150 registration fee which is applied to your tuition. Students who are expecting to receive loans are still required to submit the application fee

- The Bilingual Teacher Ed program is for: initially and/or professionally certified teachers
